I Don’t Understand The Math

This morning I looked at my blog stats, because I am vain that way. I have 28 spam comments and 16 hits. I cleared out the spam to 0. Just now I looked at my blog and I was up to 71 views today (not quite the 750 I had in one day a few weeks ago) but I had 408 spam comments. Now, I understand it is spam and all but, if they were comments, don’t you think that I would have to have views on my blog as well? I should have 400 some views not only 76. Really I would love to get back up into the numbers I was having for a few weeks but all good things come to an end. So must this blog. For tonight at least. We have a big day tomorrow. Unfortunately it is just normal shopping and not even anything fun like Christmas shopping.

I Will Not Eat Spam I Am

The last two days, I have had more spam comments to my posts than I think I have in the last 3 months. It has made my spam folder rather full. I don’t really care that my folder is full, it is easy to empty. (aaaaaaand begin rambling NOW!) My stomach, on the other hand, does not like to be empty. I am also watching “Chopped” right now. As I have said before, I think, I have to cut back on watching the food shows because I really wish I was better at cooking and I sometimes get a little depressed (not REALLY depressed just that “bummer” feeling) when I watch them because that is what I want to do. The other night I wrote about Julie & Julia. I think Ia m going to do something like that.

I have a TON of cookbooks that I don’t cook out of nearly enough. I am goign to choose a cookbook, and just start cooking things from it. I will do this as many nights as I can. I may have to be a little selective since Jackie is a tad food sensitive at the moment, but I am sure I will be able to find enough things. Not only will this fill my stomach, but it will keep me from having to decide what is for dinner and I won’t have to eat spam. Plus, since Tori is starting to eat “real” food, it will give her some good exposure to different tastes as we give her little nibbles.

I KNOW! I will blog about my experience!!! Just kidding, I won’t do that. As I said before I am not organized enough to write about the food I make. There are MUCH better writers out there that can do that. I may write about the particularly stellar achievement or failure because the epic fails may be funny. If it is something real good maybe I will have Jackie write about how good a cook I am.

So, yeah … what? Ok, hitting the sheets now since Tori was up crying a lot last night. I have to get up early too because Piper, the dog, didn’t move from her bed all day. She doesn’t appear to be sick, but I am going to have to lure her with a walk in the morning. That, or she will wake me up at 3 am to go outside. Damn kids.

Answering My Fans

Most of the top blogs that are written these days get hundreds of comments every day. Fortunately, I am NOT one of those blogs. We do however get a steady stream of comments here at VIMB. One of the  comments I get the most is:

“great service of content. Continue fine work as I will use content I was looking for to populate web.”

I feel tha tit is time for me to reply to that person.

Dear whoever the hell you are filling up my spam filter with your broken English. Unless you are the king of Nigeria and are going to give me 10 million dollars,  then please learn how to speak properly. Your weak grammar is obviously not fooling my spam filter. While you are at it, I do not want a grandfather clock or want to know how to get free movie downloads for $1. THAT DOESN’T EVEN MAKE SENSE!!!

To those of you that leave real comments, I like you lots and will try to reply more often.

 

Tori today did something that I did not think she was going to start doing for a while … she actually burped on command. I didn’t tell her to, she just did it. We have a game because she thinks burping is hilarious. I fake burp and she laughs, she makes a weird sound like daddy … and she laughs. Today we were playing that game, she paused, looked at me, concentrated and burped a real burp!

I have to say … I was so proud a tear came to my eye. She is only 10 months and already a prodigy.

What Have I Been Eating … And How Do They Know?

I think I have to start to review my dietary habits of the last few days. I think that whatever I have been eating is starting to come back to haunt me. Worse yet, others seem to know what is going on in my digestive tract better than I do.

In the last 4 days, I have received 9 “comments” on my various posts offering me the latest in colon cleansing regimens. I think my colon cleanses itself on it’s own fairly well. I don’t think I even want to know what a colon cleansing regimen does.

The scariest part of this is that all of the spam for this product, were associated with my Dead Celebrity blogs. Is it the dead celebs coming back from the beyond, letting me know my colon is dirty? Or do the spammers think that cleaning the colons of the dead celebs will bring them back? The world may never know.

Someone Thinks I Am Special

For the last couple days the visits to my site have been off the charts … at least for me. It seems that some site has glommed on to my blog somehow and has been giving me a ton of spam visits. I am not sure how this happened or how to stop it. I don’t know if this is a good thing or a bad thing. All I know is I am getting a bunch of referrals from shortened URLs. I actually think they are the ads that are popping up before the specific web pages because the ads are different every day but the site that comes up after the ads is some Arabic site I think. Am I a sleeper and don’t even know it? Am I popular among the Iran and the Al Quaida?

I shouldn’t look at the number of views as a bad thing I guess. Even robo surfers need to read a decent blog now and then.

 

 

Is It December 31st Yet?

I know, that is a very negative way to start the year, but I have said to myself that I am going to try to blog every day this year. I only missed one day so far, New Years Day, but other than that, I think I have been doing pretty well. Granted, my posts are not going to all be interesting. I am sure most will not be funny. I DO know that if I at least get SOMETHING posted everyday, then the spam sites will keep picking up my blog and at least one new user will show up every day.

I am not sure how these crazy sites keep getting my blog. There is one that posts my blog and when I look at it, it looks like this yahoo is posting my blog. Although, he/she does have a thing at the bottom that says copyrights belong to the respective owners. Meh, right now I don’t have anything that I post that is that great anyway. I also think the only things that are re-posted are the death watch blogs. So that I take as a little flattery.

I do have to admit that I am amused at some of the spam comments that I get. I think my favorites are the ones that are in Russian. I can’t understand them, but I am a little humbled that my insanity is being read by the red. ANYHOO … one of these days I think I will start to post some of the more grammatically challenged comments that I get.

Well, this was a whole lot of nothing today. I hope that tomorrow I see something happen on my way to work or something happens that I get some inspiration. Still don’t think I am confident enough yet to actually tag this with the post a day but maybe one day I will. If anyone wants me to babble on about anything, please let me know. I also hope that those few of you that subscribe won’t cancel because you get too many of these.
