Hey … I Stole This

Posted in Nonsense with tags , , , , , , , on December 18, 2011 by Bob

So I’m stealing this from Kapgar who stole it from Marty who in turn stole it from Avitable who stole it from 2 friends and they stole it from 2 friends and so on, and so on, and so on … oh wait no … that was the shampoo secret I stole earlier in the week. I didn’t think I would do a survey thing like this ever since I stopped doing them on AOL about 8 years ago but I figured, what the hell, it is an easy posting right? THEN I started looking at the questions and realizing I had to come up with answers. So, here it goes.

  1. If the whole world were listening to you right now, what would you say?
    <BELLLLLLLLLLCCCCCCHHHHHHHHH>
  2. If you could meet anyone on this earth, who would it be?
I will have to go with Frank Oz. (despite rumors of his attitude). Or, I would agree with Kevin and say Jim Henson if it could be someone dead.
  3. You just got a free plane ticket to anywhere. You have to depart right now. Where are you gonna go?
Australia. Unless of course I have to have a passport, which I don’t, so then I guess I would have to say Denver because there are things to do there when you’re dead.
  4. What do you think about most?
The cost of therapy that Tori will need with me as her father.
  5. You have the opportunity to spend a romantic night with the music celebrity of your choice. Who would it be?
Oh yes. Please let me pick Taylor Swift … oh wait. Romantic and Celebrity.
  6. You can erase any horrible experience from your past. What will it be?
This one time, after I fed Tori something I really probably shouldn’t have, and Jackie wasn’t home to change Tori’s diaper …
  7. What’s your strangest talent?
Please, this questions just begs for me to post it again. Sorry … had to.
  1. What would be a question you’d be afraid to tell the truth on?
How do you know she’s a witch?
  2. Ever had a poem or song written about you?
If there was, I am making nothing off of it.
  3. When is the last time you played the air guitar?
    August 13th 1988
  4. Do you have any strange phobias?
STRANGE phobias … no.  Everyday normal phobias … call me Monk.
  5. What’s your religion?
I believe that there is something out there to make me feel guilty about believing or not believing what I believe or don’t believe.
  6. What is your current desktop picture?
Pictures of Tori on both screens.
  7. When you are outside, what are you most likely doing?
Cursing the fresh air and wishing I was back indoors breathing the recycled breath of my co-workers.
  8. What’s the last song you listened to?
    Ass Hole by Denis Leary
  9. Favorite band?
Rubber or possibly hair. Although, a good case can be made for Lap.
  10. What was the last lie you told?
    I love my job
  11. Do you believe in karma?
I wish I didn’t but things keep proving themselves to me otherwise.
  12. What is a saying you say a lot?
Thank you please. (I stole this years ago and haven’t dropped it)
  13. What is your greatest weakness; your greatest strength?
Weakness: My right knee. Strength: This roll of Duct Tape that has been in my car for years.
  14. Who is your celebrity crush?
Jesssica Alba … although she could squash me like a grape. Man crush I would have to say Sean Connery.
  15. Give me the first thing that comes to mind when you hear the word: heart.
    Bad covers on American Idol
  16. How do you vent your anger?
I let it build up slowly over the year and let out bits and pieces at family gatherings.
  17. Do you have a collection of anything?
    Pez
  18. What is your favorite word?

Happy Birthday Jim Henson

A simple title and a simple wish to a man who touched the lives of millions and still does today. He helped put the voices in my brain. In respect to the Muppet master, I will not embed the video of me singing the Rainbow Connection yet again. (you didn’t think I wasn’t going to put it in here at all did you?)

Happy Birthday Jim Henson. We miss you.

Loves Me A Date Day

Posted in Nonsense, TV/Movies with tags , , , , , , , on January 22, 2011 by Bob

Today was date day for me and the wife. Jackie’s mom watched Tori al day for us so we were able to go to the Museum of Science and Industry to take in the second to last day of the Jim Henson exhibit. After that we went out to dinner, did our standard, ever romantic, Wal-Mart trip. We then picked up our Bug, came home and are getting ready to watch a movie. I figured I had time to recap the day while Jackie changed Tori and got her ready for bed.

First off, the Jim Henson exhibit was awesome. For those of you who haven’t seen it, it had a number of his original sketches and histories of his early days, there were Muppets and people looking at me strangely when I did the voice of every Muppet they had on display (what a good time to pimp my YouTube video of me singing The Rainbow Connection in Muppet Voices) … I was like a little kid. I even paid the outrageously high price for the picture of Jackie and I in front of the Muppet wall at the entrance. Yeah … Just like a tourist.

The one thing that I was a little saddened by was that you couldn’t take pictures. I would have tried to sneak a few, but I did NOT want to get kicked out and that would have been my luck. I did get a picture with one of my favs though.

Well, not exactly “with” him. The exhibit was closed already and these were through the glass.

We did get to check out a few of the other exhibits too. The MSI is just such a cool place that it is impossible to see everything properly in one day. But we did see planes, trains and automobiles, space stuff, robots, a fairy castle and oh yeah …. Chicks Man. (Joel McHale would be so jealous … maybe not)

Chicks Man

Well, the baby is in bed and it is time to watch the third installment of Family Guy’s take on Start Wars – It’s A Trap. May the force be with you and until next time, remember … “Life’s like a movie, write your own ending, keep believing, keep pretending.”

One Man And A Baby

Posted in Nonsense, Tori with tags , , , on January 16, 2011 by Bob

I made it! I survived weekend one alone with Tori. It really wasn’t as bad as I had feared. She slept a lot, and only fussed and cried for about 30 min total. We did a lot of playing and I found out that she is a fan of Baby Einstein. I will say that this kid can eat when she wants to! So overall, the weekend went pretty well. I think I am ready for the week that Jackie is going to Texas. Bring it on!

I was surprised at how much I was able to get done this weekend. A LOT of cleaning. Unfortunately though, no Christmas decorations came down. If we don’t get them taken down this week, it is going to be next Sunday as we are taking in the last weekend of the Jim Henson exhibit at the Museum of Science and Industry. I may have mentioned that. I am excited. Anyone who knows me knows that I will be counting down every day this week. I am sure I will let everyone know every day.

Anyway, that is about all I have today. I am pretty exhausted but I know a few of you wanted to know if I survived and I need to have a post every day. The rest of you I know are watching the Bears and could care less.

Until next time, remember … “How can something so small create so much of something so disgusting?”
