I Want To Raise My Debt Ceiling

Dear politicians, I would like to raise my own debt ceiling to an unholy level so that I can quit my job and stay home with my daughter. I will pay for this by charging you a fee to rule over me and make stupid laws like telling me I can’t eat salt. If you fix my road, I will pay you a very low wage and give you a performance review once a year.

I will decide eventually IF I want to pay you back or if I just want to continue to raise my debt ceiling. I will be spending far more money than I will ever take in and you will not be able to foreclose on me, or sue me for anything.

Welcome to a long overdue edition of Techtainment Tuesday. Let’s just address the elephant in the room right away shall we? The iPhone is on Verizon. I am not sure if I am going to go and get one. First, I don’t really use all the apps that it is mainly made for. I am pretty much a web, email and phone guy. Second, they haven’t said what the pricing is going to be yet. I may not use my money’s worth of unlimited data that I am paying for, but it is nice to know it is there so I don’t get $900 in extra charges if I forget to disconnect a streaming data source. Third, I can’t type on that screen. I need some sort of feedback so that my clumsy fingers know that I have typed something. I like my BlackBerry Storm for that reason. I also like the DROID X for the feedback, but again couldn’t justify paying for features I really don’t use.

There are reasons for me to get it though as well. First, at work, we are ALL about Apple and all of their products. Second, More and more we have clients that want iPhone apps and occasionally have the need to test said apps and what not. Third, everyone is doing it and do I really want to be left out of the loop?

I guess I have some time to think about it. I am not going to get the first ones that come out anyway, or stand in line for it. I am also thinking the next iPhone for Verizon, that will probably come relatively soon, would be for the new LTE network. I would hate to have an iPhone that wasn’t as good as it could be, and be stuck with it for 2 years just to be the first to have it.

In other technology news, IOSafe has created an almost indestructible hard drive. You  will need this if you want to drop your portable hard drive in diesel fuel, take it scuba diving or shoot it with a shotgun. It comes in Aluminum or Titanium. If you want Titanium, you can get a 512 GB solid state drive for the low low price of $3,499.99. Or, you could buy a bunch of flash drives and get 10 times more storage for about 1/100 of the price.

BOO! Hahaha. I sure did scare you! Actually, the site of another post of mine showing up in your email, facebook wall or wherever else you find out about my blog is probably scary enough. Anyhoo, a quick one today. As promised, I am listing my favorite “horror humor” movies. These are horror films that I like which were amusing intentionally or unintentionally. Now, some, maybe not the WHOLE movie is funny … but there are humorous parts. Let me know of some other funny horror flicks I need to remember.

House – Greatest American Hero and Norm chasing ghosts….classic

American Werewolf in London – Come on, the dead friend was funny!

Saturday the 14^th - One of the earlier spoof horror flicks. Plus, I just find Jeffrey Tambor funny.

Creepshow – Horror with sever tongue in cheek.

Creepshow 2 – Not as good as the first but still worth watching

Elvira Mistress of the Dark – Favorite dialog after Elvira gets hit in the head with a theater marquee letter “How’s your head?” Elvira: “never had any complaints”

Tales from the Crypt: Bordello of Blood – Dennis Miller in a horror film…right there you can’t take it seriously.

Young Frankenstein – Probably my favorite. “putting on the ritz!”

Scary Movie Franchise – Hit and miss but there are always at least a few good scenes in them.

Evil Dead Movies – I know they were in last year’s list of fav all time but it bears repeating.

 

There you have it. Once again, not an all inclusive list but a good start for any humor horror Halloween. As always, let me know some others you may know of so I can add to my own list.

Happy Anniversary To My Wife

Four years ago today, I promised my love and my life to a truly outstanding person. I found the rare individual who understands me, makes me laugh no matter how bad of a mood I am in. She knows what I am thinking before I think it myself most times (which is actually a little creepy at times). She is smart, funny, beautiful, understanding, motivating, caring, loving and surprising. I am always finding more reasons for me to love her more and more.

In approximately 15 days (if you believe the medical professionals) she will give me the greatest gift ever, our daughter.

I just want to say thank you wife for the best 4+ years of my life and I can’t wait to love you and our Tori for the rest of it.
